Even though Kaz mentioned the update is coming on Christmas, I’m still reading this as “arriving in time for Christmas”. Given PD’s tradition, any update for December usually comes in the first half of the month. So, I’m expecting it on December 4, 11 or 18 at most.

I know Christmas isn’t an official holiday in Japan, but if they release it on the 25th and a hotfix is needed afterwards, it usually comes within 4-5 days, and this will coincide with the New Year’s Day, which IS a national holiday in Japan, traditionally from Dec 29 to Jan 3.
That's what I suspected. If the winner of the Polestar Time Trial is going to the finals at Fukoka on December 20-21, it only means one thing: the Spec III has to be coming on the first days of December at the very least.

Seriously, if the 296 GT3 is the best surprise PD got and they revealed it before the update, the other cars would have to be surprise worthy.

Assuming a two-week time trial, that's cutting it fine for arranging transport and entry to Japan even if the update is on the 1st of December.

Just saw the video promoting the Polestar on Izzy Hammond’s Instagram profile, let’s see what else the night brings! (Yes it’s 9pm in my time zone so 😅)

Should also be said: If the Polestar TT is the usual two weeks, that all but rules out the new Toyota from being in Spec III - there isn't enough time for the update to be after the December 5 reveal date, then run the TT and arrange the winner's travel to Japan.

Which will baffle me as to why they are hiding the other cars' identities if it's not because at least one isn't officially a thing yet, but hey.

Indeed. Should they follow the current pattern of 2 week TT events, and release the Spec III on a Thursday, even dropping that update on 4 December would give them only 2 days to get the winner figured out and logistics settled to get them to Japan in time for the Finals. If they do drop the update on the 4th, the TT winner will have to have a valid passport already to accept the prize, I expect. Either way, I think this indicates a much earlier Spec III release than previously thought. It might be in the realm of possibility to drop the week of 27 November. If for no other reason than to fully test and patch Spec III before all the shenanigans in Japan begin.

I am over all happy on what’s coming to GT7 in the spec 3 update but I am a bit worried that circuit gilles villeneuve was not showed and December is not that far away
I wouldn't be too concerned. Remember this is only a showcase version of the update for promotional purposes.
There is only 4 of the 8 cars shown, as well as most of the other listed coming features so it's not like everything is there except Gilles Villeneuve.

I'm really excited with this new update.
Love the new cars (holy hell to the F1 Espace!) love how Yas Marina looks in the game, and the Honda Prelude '92 it will be a nice addition to the game in the future.

Now I'm curious about the other 2 cars left to reveal. I'm not entirely sure one of them is the Fiat Panda, I don't know, I just don't see it in this update.
