So, I assume we'll have two Formula 1 cars from the update, the one from the Spec 3 announcement looked more like a mid-late 90s Benetton from the nose, the one from the Yas Marina trailer instead looks like a full-fledged Tyrrell. 🤔

A quick comparison between the two cars, unless the Benetton nose is an aesthetic part that can be purchased from GT Auto...

That will likely just be a different wing you can add/change like on the other F1 car, where there are three different noses and two rear wings.

I gotta be honest that winning Prelude is probably one of the least interesting cars there, at least for me.
Espace F1 - a surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one. Awesome addition. I'm glad the "they only showed 4 cars because the rest is not that interesting" prediction turned out to be very wrong.
However, unless they do show the rest of content today, it seems like I was right to assume the rest of the content is still work in progress, so they simply didn't have anything to show at the time. Montreal and other two cars might still not be in a showcase-able state.

In the same way the RCR previewed the eventual EG appearance, I do wonder if it was chosen because they intend to add the stock version at some point and some of the modeling could be shared.
Can be, but then it kinda ruins it for other people, cuz then you just don't have a chance unless the base model of your car is already in the plans.
Don't think it's the case, more likely it's the story of the build and/or the quality behind it.
I wouldn't be surprised, if the stock Prelude appears in the game at some point, but it would be very weird if that is their reasoning to choose this one.

This goes for both these awards and Pebble Beach - it's best to remember they aren't picking the car that is best to go into the game, they are picking the best car for more normal car award concours-y reasons, and the prize is then to go into the game.

Possibly. It could also just be pure coincidence. But looking back at every custom GT Award winner, I’m surprised how many actually have had their stock counterpart featured in GT as well at some point.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the F3500-A already in the game has multiple body parts to choose from allowing it to resemble several F1 cars from that era. I imagine the same will be true for this new car.

With the new Formula car, Espace F1 and the new track, this update is looking very Grand Prix / Formula themed. That being said, I really REALLY hope one of the last two cars to be revealed is the datamined Bugatti 37A ‘28. 🤞or a return of the Auto Union Type C

Totally forgot about that one. The Espace could have been revealed in CGV, but I guess another French automaker would be just as well to be revealed at CGV. ;)

The closest match is the Nissan Skyline Coupe 370GT Type SP '07, the JDM equivalent to the G37.
Thank you. I thought I was going insane. I went back to the GT6 Infiniti car list and saw no G37. I remember seeing a G37 in the game somewhere!

Interesting that none of the cars they've revealed so far for Spec III are from the USA.

Should we think that at least one of the remaining two is American, or do we think one of the biggest updates in GT7 will only have cars from Europe and Asia?

I ain't complaining if it's the latter to be honest....

If I had to predict the possible American car, that would be either the Buick GNX '87 or the Mustang SVT Cobra R '00. Both are highly requested returning faces, and seems like bringing requested cars is what's all about in Spec III.
