Old news, but this car kinda sponsored by Gran Turismo, and PD seems to take reference to Mad Mike's car for engine swaps. So this too might be one of the two cars not revealed yet

Realize that what makes all of you react isn’t the substance at all, but the way it’s expressed. You demonize AI no matter what the actual message is. Or maybe it really is the substance that bothers you, and you attack the form just to distract from it? You can delete all my posts, because your only goal was to reach that point, not to have an intelligent debate about the actual issue. Your statements are quite telling, and I’ll keep that in mind.
This is a deranged response to people wanting to discuss opinions with each other and not weighted fiction from predictive text.

I'll remind you of the FAQ:

These rules have always been in place and remind everyone to put a little more thought into what they’re contributing to the community. In turn, this creates a more pleasant and attractive place for everyone.
What thought did you put into a copy/paste from an LLM that isn't even on topic?

Of course you were nonsensically concerned no-one would value your posts or treat them on merit. You've just about guaranteed it now. Feel free to keep that one in mind.

If Gran Turismo sponsorship is on the windshield banner, it means they sponsor the series (in this case D1GP), not the specific car, and therefore it always means nothing regarding a car potentially coming to the game.

Well, go back and look at all the replies I got after my post, and you’ll see objectively that they were all hostile. Yet I still tried to be respectful toward every person. I wasn’t shown the same consideration. On the contrary, you treated me like a criminal, someone who needed to be silenced. I have to say I expected better from this forum. Sorry to those who weren’t involved and had to witness all this. My comments aren’t directed at you. Have a good discussion.

I’m willing to take your word for it, but then why don’t they do it if it’s so simple? What’s the point of leaving the game in this state, especially on the PS5 Pro, which is supposed to be their flagship? Once again, I’m not claiming to hold the truth, but to me it’s the only credible explanation for why nothing is improving on that front, even though, as you say, it should be easy if the problem isn’t the PS4.
the point is that the game is running the way it was designed to run on the PS5. Like every console generation in history, games often try to do more than the hardware can fully manage. The game is running as intended/designed. It's shortcomings are due to it being too demanding for the PS5 hardware, not because it's being "held back" by PS4 hardware. The game running on PS4 hardware is just the PS5 game with a bunch of settings turned down.

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Hands-On: Driving Gran Turismo 7 Spec III’s New Yas Marina Circuit

We’re here in Los Angeles for the latest Gran Turismo World Series event, and while the racing competition is the main event, the Yas Marina circuit in the upcoming Gran Turismo 7: Spec III update was also getting a lot of attention. We were among the first in the world to get hands-on driving time at the new track, and we have direct-capture, 4K gameplay footage to show you exactly what it’s like...
Maybe is not my favorite track, but looks really good. La Sarthe need this graphic upgrade.

I expected better from this forum.
Had a laugh catching up all this - maybe stop with the AI responses would be a good start, otherwise you’ll end up breaking the shovel of nonsense and upgrading to the shovel of ridiculous.

On a more generic note, excited to see some of the tidbits including the Espace F1. I still wonder what the other 2 cars might be but the other 6 are all interesting (Polestar is at least a new manufacturer). For those who went to the Fan Fest, sounds like y’all had a fun time.

I can see how they come across as hostile, but all those responses were clearly specifically opposed to you making a forum post that was just copied from chatgpt, not about you sharing your opinion in general. It was probably not the best idea to double down and keep defending the chatgpt post.

Just give your own opinion in your own words in the future, that's all people are asking.

This may be me putting 2+2 together and getting -12, but I do wonder if they're a year behind where they intended to be on their internal track roadmap.

With the GTWS going to Montreal last year, and the rumour that they intended for the finals last year to be in Abu Dhabi, and then getting tracks in both locations a year later... it lines up. Very likely just coincidence, but it does line up.
Them having to make “my first gran turismo” may also affected their schedule.

MI can’t wait to play on those two new tracks and try all those new cars with ray tracing at 40 fps, and after all, my 99,000,000 credits have to be useful for something. I’m going to jump straight to the new maximum level as soon as Spec 3 launches. Do you think we’ll be able to go up to level 60, 70, 80, 90, maybe even 100? I guess the two missing cars are either the Clio Williams and the Clio RS 3, or the 205 T16 and the Porsche 935. Fingers crossed. I’d love a bonus license too, something like an E License for electric cars. I’m also thinking about taking a day off so I can fully enjoy this amazing experience.

Yas Marina with dynamic weather settings would be fun if it happens.
I don't think we'll be getting much rain if PD are being realistic with the weather patterns. UAE gets about 2 inches of rain a year.
I hope they add dynamic weather to a lot of other circuits that really need it, like Interlagos.

Well, I appreciate your reply, and I hope you’re right. If that’s the case, GT8 will release only on PS6, and I prefer that, since as you said, the PS5 and PS5 Pro are already running out of steam and struggling with GT7. A GT8 on PS5 that would basically just be a Spec 4, 5, or 6 version wouldn’t really be interesting, I agree with you. Now I just hope GT8 will be a day-one release on PS6.

I'm not sure if Polyphony has ever explained in technical detail how they create their rain and weather options, or how complex the water accumulation is simulated in GT7.

I suppose they use some kind of "water depth map," like a texture layer that tells the game where water builds up the most. The game engine probably "blends" between the dry and wet conditions. This is how they create the dangerous areas for aquaplaning, and it's also why the main racing line dries out faster than the rest of the track. This depth map is probably painted by artists following the advice of drivers who have raced on these tracks under heavy rain conditions.

But for a track like Yas Marina, I don't think they would even know where to begin. How would they create that "water depth map"?

I doubt there is much detailed data available, simply because rain isn't normal there. This means you can't rely on drivers' real-life experience in those situations to help create the water map manually.

Furthermore, simulating the water buildup from scratch must be very complex. You would have to consider how different surfaces soak up water. For example, grass should absorb rain better than asphalt, and then there are other surfaces like gravel or even special types of asphalt that let water pass through.

Of course, you can also skip these niceties and simulate a uniform water depth and, in any case, a faster drying of the path, but I think that at Polyphony they wouldn't be satisfied with this simplification and would prefer not to have rain at all rather than have it poorly simulated.

I don't need to. I have more than a four-second memory.
and you’ll see objectively that they were all hostile.
... to a post that was almost exclusively generated by a hallucination bot.

You're taking it as hostility towards you, for some reason.

Yet I still tried to be respectful toward every person. I wasn’t shown the same consideration.
Quite the opposite is true. You've been repeatedly on the attack since.
On the contrary, you treated me like a criminal
Speaking as a member of the site staff, this is unequivocally false. I can tell this because you're not in site prison, like a site criminal would be.

This is not the first time you've engaged in bizarre victimhood either:

You can delete all my posts, because your only goal was to reach that point
... as nobody deleted any of your posts, and there's absolutely no need to make up a reason to do it. If I wanted to delete your posts I'd have just done it.

Why keep playing this victim card instead of engaging? Of course, why post flawed LLM summaries instead of engaging?

someone who needed to be silenced.
Again, the opposite is true. People wanted you to express your opinion and they were objecting to you posting the opinion of an LLM (which is, of course, not an opinion but a weighted summary of other people's opinions - and which again the summary was based on something that isn't true).

It's just been a ridiculous song and dance since, and I've no idea what your goal even is or was.

We're well past the time of you packing this nonsense in. For the avoidance of doubt: pack it in, now.

I want to support you. After reaching level 50, your interest in the game drops significantly. You don't have to complete missions, just play the same old races: Le Mans/Sardegna/Tokyo, to earn money for cars, 80% of which you won't drive. I'm about to express a scary thought, but I think GT has too many cars. In my opinion, it's not the fact that there are only three Gnocchi tracks that allow you to earn decent money, but the imbalance: on one track you can earn 700k in 30 minutes, while on another, equally challenging track in Suzuka, you can only earn 225k in the same 30 minutes.
I was wondering if it would be possible to do some kind of survey: how many cars from your garage have you used in the last three months?
I just don't buy the cars that I don't want to use.

I’ve said it in a previous thread but I think Le Mans, La Sarthe may well be the oldest version of a location in the game at around 10 years old.

I’m looking forward to comparing Yas Marina to the other tracks in 4K & VR
Le mans is from around 2014-15, the oldest version of a track in game is Bathurst from the outdated signage to the sand trap on the left between the chase and armor all bridge they added a wall there in 2013

If GT8 is a day 1 release on PS6, there is no way it will be a PS6 exclusive. They will not abandon the massive PS5 player base from one day to the next.
