Alright, bad news, my ISP went down and upon reboot I’m getting stuck at around 3-6mbps after having around 100-150mbps beforehand. It was set to finish originally around 11:45 (20 minutes ago), but I now still have around 55gb of “install” that I apparently need to download. I’ll be resigned to music rally till tomorrow morning. :banghead:

I'm going to ironically post this in both threads, but... can we please avoid cross-pollination between the Spec III and Power Pack threads? I've moved about 40 posts between the two today alone.

If you're talking about the eight new cars, two new tracks, new Weekly/Seasonal/Extra Menus/Races: Spec III thread.

If you're talking about Sophy 3.0, $30/£25, six tuned cars, 50 races, stars: Power Pack thread.

There's some crossover, but use your best judgment on this. Wondering if the six tuned cars might have relevance to the main game through their custom parts could go in either (as could the comments just above about whether Sophy 3.0 will be in the main game: it won't), but I'd put it in Spec III.
Looks like youve had/got your hands full,I was beginning to wonder if the 2 threads had been merged, questions about the dlc/spec 3 update on both threads. 👍

Look mate, I'm a human being. I know we're on the Internet, which many people think gives a free pass to be rude, but it would be nice if you spoke to me like one, thanks.

Sophy is not the 'ENTIRE POINT OF THE DLC'. I couldn't care less about better AI, it's the events I want, which (on the basis that there are users who want it for things other than Sophy) proves your point completely incorrect. And I'm personally not interested enough in Sophy to even come close to justifying that price. I'm interested in getting the events that should have been in the base game, for the base price.

I'll probably end up buying it like the mug I am but to package up the events that we come to associate with Gran Turismo, events that 100% should have been in the base game (as is the general conensus) and then put it behind a paywall with slightly better AI drivers than the previous update, that's an absolute joke to be honest and I'm surprised more people aren't a bit pissed off.

£25 extra to get the game we should have had in the first place, + better AI. Nah, that's ridiculous.

(Sorry to those who are excited, not trying to dampen any spirits! By all means go and enjoy. But I feel like it had to be said.).
🤣 Lol.
Don't bother reasoning with the oafish Voodoovaj (does he even realise the whole English-speaking world reads that name and clocks it as being short for Voodoo Vagina?) Guy will argue the toss with a paperclip. Tiresome.
You are right, the extra curated races are what likely matter for most. I'm prepared to pay though, precisely because PD have finally realised it's more curated and challenging races people want. The more of us that buy it, the more likely it shapes the career structure of GT8, and I'd certainly prefer this to the cafe.

I'm updated and in - but not online. my level went straight up to L70 - I unlocked all the "open" invitations, the 4 menu books, and can single player on the 2 new circuits ok. None of the other icons are open whilst the servers updating.

Oh wow! I'm instantly lvl 70 and have all the permanent invitations. Thats kinda surprising, I don't feel like I've played that obsessively hahaha

D tuned ae86 appears to be in ps4 version of the game, it’s in my arcade race
Does D-tune mean much? Bit worried it might mean 'Drift'. If there are Drift races among the 50 I'm stuffed. V bad at it.

They actually made some improvements to online lobbies, hell yeah! That's a lovely little extra.

Upset after playing this game for 3 years in which I haven’t spent a dime on.. 3 years where we got free updates… a $30 DLC which comes out to $10 for a YEAR for the past 3years… It’s not that serious… as a grown adult if $30 after three years is causing you hardship I would be worrying about more serious matters vs a video game…
I'm more than able to afford it, it's principle. And I appreciate the free updates, but they're not replacing what was missing are they?

The absolute core game of Gran Turismo is its events. Pretty much the entire consensus from reviewing GT7 has been that these were lacking so I don't think that's controversial to say, it's still a very good game, but it was missing it's heart, it's most fundamental feature. We should at least be able to agree broadly on that.

I don't care if they've given us additional content in the form of cars for free. To put that fundamental back in, a feature that we all expected from the base game, as a paid add-on for me is out of order. If anything, this should be free and the additional cars should be paid.

And you say it's not that serious, but it's this exact behaviour that means as an industry we get worse value for money than we could otherwise have. What's to stop EA taking out qualy sessions from the F1 game and reintroducing them as a paid upgrade? FIFA have pretty much done the same thing with career mode. Maybe GTA could be assault only and we pay extra to be able to use guns?

The crux of it is removing a fundamental from the game that we all expected at launch and then charging for it is out of order. No matter how many extraneous add-ons they may have given us for free.

Hope everyone enjoys it anyway, I'd like to make it clear I'm not trying to be entirely doom and gloom and happy to simmer down if it's killing anyone's vibe! If people feel like it's value for money for them, then by all means enjoy.

This is good to know,I was wondering if we would have to continue from level 50 upwards.
