2019 to 2025 is crazy for a track. Let's be generous and say 2021, or even 2022. I would imagine this trip also coincided with the track scanning (though I could be wrong).

From the little I've seen on YouTube, the visuals do look good, so I'm not complaining in a sense, I don't want the quality to drop. I know it's a lot of work, but even if they could buffer up with enough so they could release one track every six months while still taking the time they want to get it up to their standards.

It might also be that this track has been done for a while and they've had it on the backburner to release in the future. But if that's the case, why not have other tracks ready to go?

Even if it was 6, or 8 months per track, I think people would be happier than it is now. I'm happy we got two tracks, don't get me wrong, but the output as GT7 has gone on, is low. Can they really not afford a buffer, even with their quality level?
That's incredibly ambitious for an asset of this quality. If we take it that it was 36 months to create CGV, you want them to some how increase productivity by nearly 500% with only a small drop in quality? I think we need to accept nowadays at the standard PD works, getting a track in less than 2 years in 4k and VR is not possible with a massive increase in workforce.

I don't mean that they should create tracks in 6-8 months, rather that it would be good if possible to maintain a buffer of created tracks so that they can release one every 6-8 months.

On reflection, I do understand that this would require a period of time with no tracks though.

And now I think of it, unless they can work on 3 tracks semi-simultaneously, you would have to wait four years anyway for a buffer I think. You'd be back to waiting 2 years, so not a buffer at all.

What is Sophy 3.0 like compared to what we had until now? On the previous page someone said that it's not available in Custom Races, which kind of defeats the purpose for me personally.

Sophy 3.0 is not in the main game. It is only part of the Power Pack, the discussion for which is here:

Do you know if we got more garage space, can't find anything in the patch notes?
Is it limited?! I've been buying like 3 of every model that I don't have from the used car dealership so I have cars ready for engine swaps!
I hope I don't hit it when I just buy something from the Legends dealer!

My assumption is that a buffer was planned, but got used up by the pandemic.

Two years where a team travelling to scan locations ranged from "a bit harder than usual" to "impossible" depending on the date and the country they wanted to go to. That absolutely would have set them back a ton, especially given their pace is kind of glacial even in ideal conditions.

Most of you won’t like hearing this, but I just came home from work and played this game for the first time in months (because of the update obviously) after playing nothing but R3E and AC, and wow, it sucks.

The Real Driving Simulator… yeah right. I feel sorry for anyone who defends this joke of a ”simulator.”
I might have been more apologetic if the game was good in other areas, but it’s not. Well, it looks alright I guess, there you go.

Glad to hear your fun is superior to everyone else's

Thank you for sharing, I guess

Dude, just stop it. You don't like it fine, you know you're spoiling for an argument. Every single time, it's like a dog missing a bone.

Glad you've taken some of your precious time to come back here just to let us all know that the update is not the real driving simulator the marketing sold you on. Wait, did PD marketing trick you again into it? Which part? The Sophie 3 AI based events of the DLC which would never have anything to do with the physics of you actually driving the player's car? The tarmac granularity feedback for the new 2 circuits of the Specs free update?
Anyways, we're happy you have other games you really enjoy, accent in games.

Please tell me more...!

Just got my Porsche and Citroën invitations. I am so glad that I'll never, ever have to to touch that damn roulette ever again.

As for the new tracks, I swore them off before, but I'm quite liking CGV on 500-600pp cars and smaller grids, and also slowly warming up to Yas Marina.

The Espace F1 is my favorite car of the update. Curious to see how well it fares on Le Mans 700 when I get home...

You've come into a Gran Turismo forum to tell us about how much the game sucks. What is your point, exactly?

He likes and craves the attention, by having an opinion that is contrary to most.
Maybe he is expecting everyone here to suddenly agree with him and to start following him wherever he goes ....

It's all for fun. Chill.

But thanks for sharing your opinion ;) @ Strittan

I think many would kind of agree with you, but know the ship has sailed as far as GT7 is concerned; its career is based on the cafe. The PP races, especially if lots of people pay for them, kinda signal a possible return to something better in GT8 imo. That Sophy is part of it is great too, negates the time-consuming need to build and balance cars for custom races. On the whole it's a good thing and I'm prepared to throw 25 quid at it to show I'd like more in future.

Edit: And it's pretty easy to ignore the bad elements here, it's generally just bad manners and oafishness; there aren't many wrong 'uns, and regulars know who they are and I'm sure roll their eyes when the usual suspects join the conversation, but there's a lot of info here and the moderation is good, so it's a worthwhile place to hang out if you spend a fair amount of time on the game imo.
Appreciate that mate, I'm all for a well-reasoned reply, particularly if I'm coming in here moaning while everyone else is excited, no one wants to hear that!

Didn't mean to be petulant, happy to listen to anyone's reasoned response (and most importantly happy for fans of the game to actually be happy about this update, because that's what matters!). Just felt what I said was warranted, and some of the juvenile reactions are incredible :D.

Really hope everyone is enjoying the update, I'm sure I will when it comes down in price, but I think calling out these companies for doing what they are is not only warranted, but helps us all out in the long run!

Either way, hope everyone is having a great time with the update. The 90's F1 car is brilliant, that and the F1500T-A are brilliant additions to the game, which are appreciated free updates.
