anyone having any game craashes? did a night of racing with 5 of us online and 3 of us had 1 or 2 game crashes each. Never seen one before..

I expect CGV got delayed while they worked on Yas Marina - they probably jumped at the chance to have it. Capturing the circuit is one thing, but then turning that into the in game asset is another project entirely.

Has the pp been nerfed for any of the 600pp glitched engine cars? Im at work so cant check yet.
Thanks.
Checked my Hiace, Cappy, and Mustang 429. Happy to say, absolutely no difference in PP ratings!!

I noticed that the boost gauge of the 296 looks a bit strange.

What a bundle of fun this car is. Took it to the Nurburgring out of the box. The car was all over the place, but still good for a 6:38.
A bit of setting up took off about 10 seconds. Gonna try a better setup tomorrow.
Great sound from this car.

Love they added the Renault V12 as a swappable engine for the F3500 cars, although no F1 car ever had a Renault V12 F1 engine.

You mean v10 not v12

I drove the F3500-B, the Espace F1 and both the 296s last night. Here's how things went:

First thing I did was buy the F3500-B and put the V10 in it because I'm not exactly a fan of the V8. I took it out to Circuit Gilles Villenueve to see what it could do, but that turned out to be a mistake😂 The car was clumsy in the slow corners and I kept crashing like a dumbass who hadn't driven a car before. Eventually I put a clean lap together but I was over the suffering so I jumped over to Yas Marina to see if I'd fare any better. I did, and I felt much more comfortable with the car, but the slow speed performance was still an issue. I then moved on to Spa and that's when the car really came alive. No longer did it feel ponderous and pathetic.

After buying the 296 GTB, I took it out to Yas Marina in order to test the track in a road car. Coming from the F3500-B was a little bit of a culture shock but the car handled well and put down the power without too much trouble. Impressive for sure but I didn't have a proper basis of comparison, so I went to Monza to see how it'd stack up against a bunch of other cars. The result? A 1:51.183 lap time - making it the second fastest "stock" vehicle on the board behind the LaFerrari. It's seriously quick but it never felt scary or intimidating, which is one hell of an achievement.

Next was the Espace F1. It's quite the novelty to drive a van with 4 racing seats and a V10 in the back, but in all honesty, I enjoyed it. The power to weight ratio isn't that insane so it was pretty easy to drive around Yas Marina. Such an interesting piece of history deserves to be cherished so good on PD for bringing it back.

Last thing I did was drive the 296 GT3 around Circuit Gilles Villenueve and I have to say, I've never been soo entertained by a GT3 car before. It's soo far ahead of everything else with an incredbily sharp chassis that talks to you all the time. I wasn't exactly crying out for the 296 GT3 and didn't expect very much from it, so I'm happy to be proven wrong. I'll be taking it out to a few more tracks for sure.

If you look at the description when swapping the engine, it says V12. I found it odd too, but it does say V12.
The Espace F1 has a V10, the two Formula cars have a V8 and V12 respectively. They can swap engines with each other and also swap in the Espace V10.

Yes. This is a great update. The two new circuits. REAL race tracks. We've got so many undulating circuits, it's nice to have a break and work on mechanical grip surfaces.
CGV, man. Love the closeness of the walls in VR. It's crazy to know F1 race there. Feels more like a circuit for a Nissan Micra Cup. Just awesome.

My pass through chicane and Wall of Champions, I almost (it is replay after giving me gold time) kissed it:

I got gold on all sections but somehow I just can't get gold on the full lap. Will need to practise more with the new tyres and still adjusting to the PS5 controller. Also, that AMG is so hard to turn. Really struggling with it.

Most of you won’t like hearing this, but I just came home from work and played this game for the first time in months (because of the update obviously) after playing nothing but R3E and AC, and wow, it sucks.

The Real Driving Simulator… yeah right. I feel sorry for anyone who defends this joke of a ”simulator.”
I might have been more apologetic if the game was good in other areas, but it’s not. Well, it looks alright I guess, there you go.

And now you all understand why this van has been so requested for so long...

First thoughts on Spec III - I feel like the physics are better but it will take a bit of getting used to. CGV is great.

Yas Marina is very pretty but the first thing I did when I booted up the game was run that WTC 800 event and the FPS is utterly horrible, it genuinely makes the race almost unplayable to me. I'm on PS4 so I guess it's better on PS5, but jeez. In the daytime it doesn't seem so bad but it's still noticeably jumpy.
I upgraded to PS5 just recently and I am very impressed by the improvement of quality and frame rate. If you are a dedicated GT player, it's actually worth it. But the PS5 is still not cheap, neither secondhand, you really have to look at it as investment in your hobby. I was very reluctant too and a tight budget doesn't help, but I am really glad I made the purchase now.

I'm not catching up on the past 11 pages since release so forgive me if it's already been discussed, but wasn't there meant to be some Sport Mode changes happening in this update as well?

You're right and I'm dumb. Mixed up the info.
I'm gonna have to spend 4,4mln tomorrow to get the right engines in my Williams livery F3500-A's .......

Yeah the track is surprisingly narrow in this game.
