Following the disappointing delay news last week, Sony has now confirmed Gran Turismo Sport will be showcased at the Tokyo Game Show later this month. In a list posted on the official Japanese Playstation website, GT Sport appears alongside other upcoming first-party exclusives and third-party titles set to take place in the ‘stage event’ at the show:

With this year’s game out in the wild and receiving plenty of critical praise, it should come as no surprise that Codemasters are hard at work ironing out issues reported by the community.

Last week, Kazunori Yamauchi took to the PlayStation Blog to announce Gran Turismo Sport would not be released in 2016. The news came as a shock to players, as the public beta scheduled to arrive early 2016 had already been cancelled to ensure the target release date was met. Yamauchi only said that the game would now be targeting the 2017 calendar year, with a more exact launch window (Q2 2016, April, etc.) not mentioned.

The wait is nearly over: the next entry in the open-world racer has officially gone gold. Releasing on the 27th of next month, and four days earlier for those with early access courtesy of the Ultimate Edition, Forza Horizon 3 is set to deliver plenty of fun from down under.

Sony has announced via the Playstation Blog US that Gran Turismo Sport will not be releasing this November. In the update post, Kazunori Yamauchi himself details that the game will now be releasing in 2017 with an exact release window still to be confirmed.

One of the most impressive features of the Gran Turismo series has always been its replays. Ever since the first game way back on the original PlayStation, Polyphony has made an effort to give the replays a feeling of authenticity. Racing is fun, but GT games made watching the race after the fact entertaining in its own way.

We can’t really imagine more hazardous driving conditions than those presented in the latest video in Marcel Pfister‘s Mixed Reality series. Night-time combined with a severe snowstorm manages to create a really uncomfortable racing scenario. To experience the danger full-scale, Marcel used an Oculus Rift VR headset in combination with green-screen technology, a well-known recipe we have encountered in all previously-released Mixed Reality videos.

The Forza Garage series of car reveals came to an end this week with a surprise only the craziest of car lovers would appreciate. Week 6 changed things up quite a bit by revealing that the three-wheeled Reliant Supervan III, best known to those in the UK for being featured in the BBC comedy ‘Only Fools and Horses’, would be featured in the game.

Earlier this month, GT Academy winner Nicolas Hammann made his NASCAR debut in the Xfinity series. Competing at the Zippo 200 Watkins Glen International, the American managed a 28th place finish after an oil leak plagued his race. Although not ideal, his placing did put him ahead of a good few NASCAR veterans including NASCAR sprint cup champion Kyle Busch, although Busch did have an accident himself. Hammann’s Xfinity journey isn’t over yet however — he’ll race this weekend in the Road America 180.
