Well that was chaotic!!

Damn if only that was Hamilton not Bottas. Vettel is getting a new nose and that should be it.

Damn Gasly got caught up in that. I always want to se ethe new guys do well. Leclerc is up there though which is good.

What the 🤬

Carnage

Bottas and Vettel under investigation.

So Vettel is being looked at because of incident. Which was caused by a slight lock-up. So basically everyone has to race perfectly...

That was GT Sport level of messiness for a race start.

Did Max gain too much of an advantage by going wide??

Stewards might allow it. He was avoiding a collision.

Is it Vettel's(braking) fault?

Seems like it. Seems like he locked up.

He had so much more traction off the line that he was up Lewis' tailpipe right away. When they arrived at the corner together, Bottas was later on the brakes and had the advantage and the corner entry, but Vettel seemed to lock up.

There will be an investigation, but I'd say that was more of a racing incident. They met somewhere in the middle of the track.

A couple of races ago the marshalls said it is the risk of the first corners and thus no penalty

Not sure it matters due to the safety car and because he went off track to avoid contact.

Yeah it does look like he went wide to avoid the incident.

Usually lock ups are forgiven by the stewards, but that is no consolation for Bottas or us poor fans.

Was that a touche between Alonso and Vettel? I missed the replay

One consolation: We can watch Vettel and Bottas carve their way back up through the field.

Vettel already up to 12th.

Overtaking into the chicane doesn't seem to be a problem so far.

5 second penalty for Vettel.
