Another legend is back in some way.

This could be due to technical limitations, you be so quick to judge without knowing it...
A replay is a replay, it doesn't matter if it's a Time Trial lap or an online Time Trial lap. Even third party solutions are able to have laps from all sorts of replays.

This seems like a conscious choice and not a technical issue.

Same, I‘m really looking forward to finally being able to make liveries for a contemporary GT3 car and iconic F1 liveries such as the F2004. Actually I have way more livery ideas than leisure time right now.
Looking forward to seeing your new creations, scapes and liveries. And they might feature the 2 new tracks in the scapes collection where people can take car/drifting photos. It'll be neat and cool.

Have a sport mode race, save the replay and see how some of the other cars aren't quite as planted on the track. If people's connections can't provide a decent set of data, there's no point.

25 years ago I got interested in cars thanks to Gran Turismo 2, and then 10 years later I joined this forum to speculate about GT5. Eventually I ended up working at an Automotive startup where we just had some sketches of a concept car and were tasked to make it real.

I know the Polestar 5 may not be the most exciting car in this update for everyone. But I think it’s really cool that it’s come full circle, and a car I’ve been working on for so long is now in the franchise that started it all for me.

Can’t wait to see how it compares to the real thing tomorrow!

Dude that’s awesome! Congrats to you.

What I really dislike are single-player contents that are limited by time.
They give a sense of work instead of fun.
Forza already put me off so much that I lost all motivation to play (mainly because of the cars that could only be obtained that way, hopefully that won't be the case with GT7), Luckily, Turn 10 realized their mistake and are bringing the content back permanently.

But I'm really looking forward to the rest. Especially the new tracks.

I suspect it's a reference to events that only exist in the game for a limited period of time - Weekly Challenge Special Events, for example - not races set to a time rather than lap limit.
Is it though? 🤔

I mean, they give you a week to play them, which is what makes them special. If you can't get to them in a week, que sara, sara.

I would think this category of racing is technically a Multiplayer Co-op, but that's just me :P
I agree, if you could do that (and let me tell ya, I would implement that in a heartbeat if they gave me the chance). But for now, it's "co-op" as in you+AI.

I am truly HOPING and expecting that the meeting place feature evolves into a co-op play feature for the single player. Both competitive multiplayer in single player and co-operative multiplayer.

Like, you start a 24 hours race, you play it, and while you are away, anyone else can jump in and continue where you left off (limited to friends?). This forum would be all over it.

I think so, given the reference to Forza Motorsport:

I can't see any reason to interpret that as meaning actual races like the 30/60 minute ones in the game.

As noted, the Weekly Challenges are hardly a chore, don't hold back content (the famous FOMO) behind them, and actually did offer an incentive to tick off races in your Dashboard that you might otherwise leave forever. But then some of the Special Events were a lot of fun for a week, and then vanished.

Of course we've been saying they need to come back with permanent Menu Books (as they usually landed in threes) and it now seems some are in the Power Pack

I would love for GT to implement a system similar to that teased by Le Mans Ultimate - where you are a race team with 2 or 3 other gamers. You put in your stint, then the other driver logs in to their game and does their stint and so on.

I can't imagine it's that tricky to implement...

But PD doesn't appear to be going in that direction, and I can see it being quite niche

"The new 'Data Logger' feature will be added. This feature is available in non-racing modes like 'Time Trial,' 'Licence Centre,' and 'Circuit Experience.' Players will be able to load data from the previous attempt or from replays to view and compare elements such as racing lines, throttle and brake inputs, speed, and engine RPM all in real-time"
Seriously? The game modes that have been gathering dust since 2023?
