Yay. We can compare our car's data to one of the many processional AI cars. I'm stoked.
You can compare to any replay in time trial, licenses and CEs (so replays from you or from other players). Seems already very interesting to me.
Seriously? The game modes that have been gathering dust since 2023?
I won't speak for licenses or CEs, but Time Trial is clearly not gathering dust.

Anyone else think it's weird that all of the Extra Menu Books to date are unlocked after completing GT Cafe Menu Book 39, but the four new ones require an over-50 Collector Level?
I didn't even clock that at first, Strange.

One question I do have: I would assume there are alot of us that have gotten enough collectors points to go well over 50 at this point (Especially if its the folks that went fully in to getting ALL the LCD cars) so once the update applies, will those points carry over? They seem to continue counting despite not having anything to apply to.

I see some HUD updates too with gap from leader to all cars now shown on the right of the positions

Edit: screenshot of what I mean
GT7 pos gaps.webp

Edit 2: actually the maths isn't mathsing here... unless those figures are not updated in real time but by sector 🤷‍♂️

Edit 3: OK so they are updated in real time, but looking at the video again they're not just gap from leader. Maybe lap deltas? Interesting...

Edit 4: It looks like they're dependent on the session either best lap or gap from leader

There's also Tyre data now too

I'd be willing to bet a significant amount of cash (no I wouldn't) that all those points we've accumulated above the CL50 line will count toward the new levels.

That sure would be nice to have in VR2 🤞

I bet there’s not hud improvement for VR though. It would be nice to be wrong though, and that will finally get VR updates. But as nothing has been mentioned so far, I’m not optimistic.

I haven't checked the video, but it looks like it's the gap from the leader. The reason why the times are not adding up is likely because they are all measuring to different reference points. The delta between P1 and P2 measures to the point where P1 was 0.005 seconds ago. The delta between P1 and P3 measures to the point where P1 was 0.146 seconds ago, which is a different point on the track (unless P1 was stationary for a fraction of a second). The delta between P2 and P3 measures to the point where P2 was 0.159 seconds ago.

So these deltas are all measuring different things and they should not add up nicely (they should only do so if the deltas remain constant).

Really only big disappointment for me is the lack of events at the new tracks. 5 events total for 2 brand new tracks?

Presumably more will get added in future updates, but that's a very low number, and the lack of event variety is already the biggest issue with the game. There should be at a minimum WTC 600/700/800/900 and GR.1 races for every track. Doesn't even seem that hard to do?

Some stuff I noticed/looking forward to:

  • F3500 B has a „Reverse“ button. Huge improvement to the „Reverce“ in the F3500 A 😉
  • I like the bright yellow exhaust flames. Theyre mostly blue-ish currently? Except for the Nissan Super Silhouette…
  • I hope they included a special gear shift animation in the espace F1. It has buttons
  • Looking forward to many more details and „undocumented changes“

I know... I'm a real life motorsport time keeper 👍... (the FIA standard for timing intermediates is 100 meters)

But it looks like they're different or absent depending on the event/session. The rally event for example it looks like best laps.

Edit: I've just figured it out looking again, Fraga overtakes Solis. So it is gap from leader... I won't give up the day job 🤣

Im assuming the “seasonal events” are going to be like what FH has going on. How much can they really do with that in GT?

I'm not being facetious, I'm genuinely interested, and pls don't amswer if you consider my asking this rude (not at all intended), but is that a real job? Or a voluntary/hobby thing like track marshalling? Ifvit's what you do full time I'd really be surprised there's enough demand (in UK?)
Sorry, way off topic, I know...

You're about to be disappointed then. Big time.

The 'events' appear to be extra car collecting menus, like the ones we already have called Extra Menus in the cafe. Except grey colour, not yellow. And with an expiry date. Collect the three cars and get a reward roylette ticket. Before the menu expires. Or lose the ticket. Which might only reward you with a carbon driveshaft anyway...

Oh yes it's a real job. And there are certainly plenty of events in the UK to make it a full time job. But I'm not timing motorsport events every day ;) - In fact this year I've only done 4 days of actually time keeping.

My colleague is an Ex F1 timekeeper and they have a team of about 6 of them working in 3 week shifts.

I get the feeling these are early access features to gt8.Same for the power pack features
I think they will release this feature for Sport Mode in future patches, still for GT7. Kinda like Sophy was slowly introduced in other modes, with proper time to test everything (they had to test Sophy in every track, they need to test Dataloader for every mode).

Does anyone have any idea which year the Mine's Skyline is? I see some online listing a '99 model, '00 and '06. I'm assuming it's not the one from GT6 because the alloys look quite different...

Are they? After I beat Menu Book 39, I only unlocked a portion of the Extra books. One or two more were unlocked each time I leveled up.

That depends on whether it is specified as Offline or Online Time Trials, IMO
What's an Offline Time Trial?

They are. Perhaps you're thinking of Bonus Menu Books?

No, I'm specifically talking about the car collection tasks, which is what these new things seem to be. Maybe the names got mixed up somewhere?

A bunch were blanked out with collector level requirements when I first unlocked the feature. I would complete one, level up through purchasing those cars, and then sell the cars so I could afford to complete another that was just unlocked.

Edit: This page has the Extra Menu level requirements listed.

Has anyone else noticed the Espace F1 using a SRT Tomahawk engine sound at the end of the update trailer?

Hopefully they didn’t mess up the actual in-game sound. The Yas Marina trailer had an F1-V10-like sound for the Espace, so maybe it’s a trailer error?
