Cars, pickup trucks and SUV's, including a VGT, driving into the sunset over dirt and suspension-destroying terrain (see the last seconds of the trailer), A.I. advancements that will make "chase the rabbit" a thing of the past, and cars finally getting dirty... You (we) are getting an open world GT before 8... mark it down.

I've been thinking this in passing ever since they were adding the CUVs that literally no one was asking for  as if they were gonna use them for NPCs the way the Civic Kanjo race does it.

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Gran Turismo Spec III Finally Lets Cars Get Filthy Dirty

A quiet change to Gran Turismo 7, instituted in the recent 1.65/Spec III update, has made the game the dirtiest it has ever been — and we don’t mean in the Daily Races...
No guys, are you kidding me? Dirt on the windscreen? I can't believe it! Do we yet have a screenshot in Cockpit view?

Funniest thing is cars getting dirty but still magically becoming pristine after the race :banghead:

PD, the goal was RIGHT THERE, come on :ouch: makes the car wash about as useless as the PP entry fees or Sport mode payouts.
When I played Grid Legends for the first time I was like "Why does my car look that bad?" until I figured out I have to clean it😄

All this time... there was an option to clean the cars... Why didn't I know about this?

Will never happen. Never ever ever. I would bet my life on it.

Has there been anything official on where the other Yas Marina layouts are? All the track, curbing etc is modelled and all they have to do is move some temporary barriers they placed to block them. Could have up to 5 layouts total and the short ones are really fun to drive, shame we don't have them.

Yas Marina is a beautiful track! Doing the track walk using the photo mode PD did a great job, I also didn’t know you can go that high with the camera now lets you see how beautiful the scenery really is.

Yeah, something about the camera height. I did that at CGV and figured that’s new. Thought it would stop just above the fencing, but I was able to sky the trees looking at buildings and freeway traffic opposite the main straight.

Ok I know I’m not bugging.. I was like damn when did it let us go that high.. Now I’m going back to all the tracks to look around! I’m shocked we can’t view the track in VR, because it’s so detailed.

Typical PD logic; now we roll the dice every month to see if a new layout gets added in an update like the rallycross layout from Barcelona did*

*as an aside, you'd think they'd be salivating at the thought of adding another RX course (since they have GT7-branded RX branding ready to go) to give more use to the neglected rally cars, but alas :banghead:

So where are those GT8 videos at?
There's always a smart ass in a group... It takes time to edit videos. Also a crap load of videos on my channel already showcasing SPEC 3. If you can't see any improvements while you play then get your eyes checked or you maybe you simply have the inability to see any improvements. Its your issue.

PowerPack alone is enough of a major improvements let alone the physics , sounds visuals that have been improved.

I haven't had a chance to play much sincd the update. I did notice there seems to be a change in the hand animations, in the cockpit view. They seem more realistic, and the gear changes seem much less lethargic, especially in the F-3500B
Of course there is. There's numerous improvements like this that makes the game feel rejuvenated. Its a major upgrade. Unfortunately some people in this thread like to be a complete ass hat and be negative.

Yes definitely no improvements! 🤦‍♂️

Most of these 'improvements' are trivial though. Crisper graphics, filthier cars, and better hand animations are not enough to make it feel like GT8. The core gameplay literally plays the exact same as before. (Powerpack DLC excluded, as that is separate DLC and not an integral part of Spec 3 update itself, otherwise the DLC content would be on PS4 as well...)

it isn't being negative to acknowledge fact that core gameplay is not GT8-like but still very much GT7. Claiming or suggesting the game is like GT8 now is bit of exaggeration.
