A Chinese software company known as “Sailfish Games” has published a car-driving app on Google Play (formerly known as the Android Marketplace) titled “Gran Turismo”.

Powerful, classic cars take center stage in Gran Turismo 5’s latest Seasonal Events, which feature pre-1969 cars on Comfort/Soft tires with no more than 500pp.

While a group of 32 guys hopeful to follow in his footsteps competed in the U.S. GT Academy 2012 finals in San Diego last weekend, the first GT Academy champion, Lucas Ordonez, was nearly halfway around the world, racing on England’s Donington Park.

Kazunori Yamauchi will be attending GameLab 2012, a video game developer’s conference to be held this weekend in Barcelona, Spain. He will be receiving an Honor Award from the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences and will be delivering a speech on the Gran Turismo series and GT Academy.

As was discussed in our forums, registration pages for GT Academy 2012 experienced some technical difficulties last weekend in the final days of the competition. This prevented some participants from completing their registration, which would make them ineligible to move forward in the competition.
